Free Service for Healthcare Professionals
MedicAlert Foundation provides healthcare professionals with 24/7 access to member’s Emergency Medical Information Record (EMIR®). This access is available through MedicAlert's 24/7 Emergency Response call center , and thourgh a secure and HIPAA compliant online electronic and mobile access called PrEMISE®.
- 24/7 Emergency Response Center
By calling MedicAlert's 24/7 Emergency Response you gain vital information regarding your patient’s medical history, enabling you to provide the best informed care possible and helping reduce medical and/or medication errors as you provide care for your patient. A live agent is available to provide assistance 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Please call 800-625-3780 to reach an agent and gain vital medical information.
- Mobile PrEMISE® Application
To access a member's EMIR through the PrEMISE application, you will need to register with MedicAlert Foundation. Registration and emergency access is available through www.medicalert.org/premise. If you are not registered, you can still download the PrEMISE app to gain access to the one touch calling feature, directly connecting you with MedicAlert emergency response staff.
- Education and Training
MedicAlert Foundation also provides educational services to emergency healthcare professionals so that you are aware of the patient information available on each person wearing a MedicAlert medical ID. The foundation provides a free EMS training kit that is printed and classroom-ready to use for new EMS students or EMS educators. The training kit can also be used to obtain free continuing education (CE) credit. Training kits are available to order and download here.
Free Service to Law Enforcement
MedicAlert serves as an information hub for members who have been reported missing by their caregivers. These patients usually wander due to a medical condition such as Alzheimer’s or Autism. MedicAlert Foundation assists law enforcement officers who call MedicAlert seeking information and identification information on a missing or found person, with the goal of reunting patients with their loved ones. This service is currently only available over the phone.
